Great Blogs that Don’t Make Money

It makes me sad sometimes when I look around the internet and see some great websites that could make a ton of money and advertising and don’t even make an effort.

Now, I realize that people don’t always want to do to earn money online. Some folks just like to post entries that amuse their readers and then get up and go to their nine to five the next day.

There is a part of me that want to shake these kinds of people and help them see the light.

I ran across an excellent blog today at wordpress. Actually I was told by two different people to check it out (that’s a testament to how great it is, when your friends start telling you randomly to look at this blog). I will show it to you in a minute, but I want you to be prepared for the beauty of this site before I send you to look at it.

This blog is everything I tell people to make a blog.

It is on topic.

A good blog picks a topic and follows it. Whether he expands on one idea, or just develops the same idea for different perspectives, a good blogger always stays on point. I have seen blogs that vary considerably from family, to the news, to web content (the truth is, I have a blog like that - but I it’s there for family and friends so the topic is me.) Most blog readers don’t really want to know you - the author. They are interested in your thoughts on the topic about which you write. This blog is an excellent display of that.

catkeyboard.jpgIt is funny at times

This blog is hilarious. The title makes you laugh, and laughter is good. The posts will make you chuckle even if you are alone at home when you read it. You won’t be able to wait to share this with someone you care about.

This should not be aspired to by every blogger.  Realistically, not everyone can actually pull it off.  If you aren’t funny, don’t try to be.   But like everything, if its a tool in your basket, pull it out and show it off sometimes.
It is also serious

In a funny yet subversive way, the author has chosen to point at issues within society that are in need of being fixed.  Some of the posts point out things we wish weren’t true about our society.  This is OK, and potentially even productive.

It has a following

There are almost 1,000 subscribers to this feed.  The reason is obvious.  The blogger presents the topic which they have said they plan to discuss, and then discusses it!

It would take nothing at all for this blogger to earn a living from advertising on this blog.  If you can build a blog like this one, you too can earn a living.

That said: I hope you enjoy reading - stuff white people like -
