Secrets to Success #1 – Change the World

There are some things you need to do to set the stage for success.  You need goals, you need perseverance, you need accountability, and you will need knowledge.  Some of these things are intuitive and some will be gained.  We will talk about each of these and more in detail soon.  But I believe with all my heart that the most significant key to success is that you set out to improve something.  If the only thing you care about it is the size of your bank account, you won’t get very far.

We all need to have a purpose.  Money and retirement are not good enough.  Be passionate about something.  Care enough to really try to help people and change things.  If you work for good you will be rewarded.

It is one of the tragedies of technology that people use the anonymity of the internet to screw people out of billions of dollars.  That won’t get you very far either in life or in business.  If you had a corner store in a small town, you would treat your customers with respect because you would want them to come back!  You would want them to tell their friends about you.  The internet should be no different.   We need to be polite, be honest, and provide a useful resource that is helping people improve their lives or their world.

A great example of this can be found by a relatively new blog on the internet.  Another piece of the Puzzle is a new blog.  I connected with the writer through a friend on Stumbleupon and learned that her son has autism.  She really has a great perspective on who he is as a person and what she wants to do to change the world because of him.  For the month of April she is blogging for autism awareness.  I encourage you to pop over and leave her a comment.

My question to you my dear reader is this:  How will you change the world?  What do you care about enough to do something?  And if it’s simply your checking account, you may not want to see Secret to Success #2 – the Golden Rule.
