Using Metatags to Drive Better Traffic
28 September, 2008, 11:30 am
It’s time for one more change for the weekend. Yesterday you did a few minutes of keyword research, now it’s time to something with all those great words.
Update your metatags
The metatags on your page will tell the search engines what you are all about. Two important things in that area are the “description” and the “keywords.”
The description is a sentence or two that describes your page in detail.
This should be reader friendly and keyword rich. You want to really sell your site using the words that people are looking for. What did you learn yesterday? Now is the time to use those words.
Write a new description for your page that describes in detail what you are about. This will help you drive more qualified traffic in to your page and get higher rankings in the search engines.
Make sure you read my previous post on using metatags the right way, for some more tips and plugins that make it easier. And let me know if you have any questions.
I hope this quick series has been helpful, and that you had a good weekend!
