Changes aka the future’s so bright I gotta wear shades

Another semester has come to an end (the absence gives away the pressure of exam time).  And frankly there are several things we need to discuss.

The first and possibly the most important is Wordpress 2.7.  I am a huge fan!  If you know me at all, you know that I upgrade slowly.  If I have learned anything from Microsoft, it’s that upgrades are rarely helpful.  Wordpress 2.7 is incredible.  Best upgrade experience ever.  Go get it!

I also want to give you a brief prelude to coming features.

guest posts

I have decided to try to make guest posts a more regular feature of this blog.  So email or comment if you want to be a guest poster.  I only have three requirements.

1- you must have your own business

2- you must have a blog

3- it has to impress me

– just to put your mind at ease, I am easy to impress.

I want to do this for a couple of reasons.  First, it will be nice for me in May of 2009.  You see, I graduate and my wife has said she intends to birth our third child.  It might be helpful at that point to have a cue of guest posters I can trust.  Second, and really most important, you need to learn from a variety of perspectives.  My voice alone is  a poor source for learning everything you need to know.

There  are a variety of things I intend to cover in coming months.  I plan to finish the series on increasing traffic with social networks.  I also have some more thoughts on forming the right mindset for success.  This area is covered well both here and in the blogosphere, but frankly there is so much noise that its hard to hear the most important points.  I want to make those loud and clear.

I also hope to integrate a few new topics that I know you face if you are self employed.  There are questions of insurance, taxes, and legality that need to be addressed so I want to look into that some as well.

book release

I have said it before to some of you, and I will say it again.  I am almost done with my book.   I hope to release it in the next couple of months.   We will be talking about this more soon, but it is definitely the kind of thing you want to keep up with.  If you are an affiliate marketer, you might want to subscribe.

life

One thing I have never really addressed here is who I am.  While my writing style has come across from time to time (at least I hope so), I never really let you guys in my real life.  This coming year is going to have several changes in store for me and the family so don’t be surprised if that comes up once in awhile.
