What can you learn from Models?

Tiny ModelI was talking with someone the other day about models.  No, I am not talking about bony Europeans strung out on diet pills!  I mean people and businesses that serve as an example to others.

There are a handful of guys out there who you can feel good about emulating.  Some of them have resources that make it impossible to copy them, but we can absolutely learn from them and model much of what we do after their successes.

Some people would say that is ripping them off.  Sure there are times you can flat out steal an idea, or even a domain name from someone who is successful.  Those things are wrong and people who do it should be hung from their fingernails on justin.tv.

So now you know how I feel about theft.

Case Study Of One Great Company

I want to give you a case study of a company I have come to admire a great deal.  This company is a leading business training firm.  In a way they are in my field, that’s what I do.  But they are a multi-million dollar company, something I don’t even aspire to!

For several years they have been helping their clients reach the top of the search engines.  In addition to this flagship service, they regularly launch new products and services.  When they do, they do it right.  They generate interest through social media, blogs, videos, even from sending out a few of their products a bit early.

In case you didn’t already know, the company I am talking about is Stompernet.  They are about to release a product called formula five.  You will find out a bit more about this soon.  In fact, I just got my first shipment of five (thus the name) and I will be posting a video here very soon.  Subscribe so you can catch that when its ready.

In the meantime, check out their impressive videos and watch this new product launch carefully because you will learn a lot from paying attention. We will be looking at their use of social media, their use of multimedia, and how this launch progresses.  In all fairness, I know more now than I can tell you.  But I am very excited both about formula five and about this launch.  I want you to follow along with me as we see how they market this product.  Keep in mind, you can’t but formula five yet… you can only desire more.

We will talk more about this as formula five comes closer, but for now, keep an eye on formula five and let me know what you think of their marketing.
