Success comes when you aren’t looking for it

My facebook friend Harry Delgado wrote a comment today. You know one of the best things about facebook is seeing the random thoughts of people come across the home page when you sign on.
Harry wrote “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.”
I thought to myself, “wow, how true that is!” I know so many people that are so busy looking for success (whatever that means to them) that they kill themselves and never find it. People who are too busy doing things that they love wake up one day and realize that they have become successful.
Usually people like that are self serving and arrogant. They want their own happiness and in the process often hurt others. In the end, they usually become failures.
So let me ask you this simple question: are you busy doing something you love to do, or are you driving after success and becoming more miserable in the process?
Make 2009 a year where you go after your dreams. Get busy loving your life, and one day you will wake up and realize you are a successful person! Red, from Shawshank Redemption, said it better than I can, “Get busy living, or get busy dying.”
Tomorrow I will address some of the ways we can move from self serving failures to others centered successes. Make sure you subscribe so you get that when it comes out.
