Why Don’t we Ever Talk About Firefox Anymore?

Old Loves

You know how when you are dating, you just talk and talk and talk.  You are enthralled with that other person across the table, at the other end of the couch or beside you on the floor.  Whatever your particular dating style, you talk about your love.

Then after some years of comfort and stability y0u begin to take one another for granted and you just don’t meditate on one another the way you used to.  That’s not to say you aren’t in love.  You just don’t feel the need to flaunt your love any longer.

Well, the same thing has happened to firefox. In the early days people talked about it, they told the people they love not to use that dirty filthy explorer, they helped everyone they knew find the benefits of firefox.  Not so much these days.  There are new things to talk about, we have new loves like twitter and plurk for example.

But we still love firefox.  And we still think you should use it.

Three reasons

1. Firefox is  customizable

You can make firefox do just about anything you want.  There are lots of Add-ons and themes to choose from to make your firefox YOUR forefox.

2. Firefox is  safe

Every Browser will have vulnerabilities, but by and large, Firefox is much safer to use while surfing the net.  Even without virus protection, it can block some dangerous attacks because they take advantage of the overuse of explorer in their attack plan.  If you dont use explorer you already have a better line of defense.

3. Firefox is free

What else do I really need to say about that?

Normally I would not advocate leaving a commitment for another lover.  But in an abusive relationship, I think it’s safest and best to get away from the abusive one and move on.

I love all of the add-ons. I just installed a greasemonkey script that will block flash. Myspace and camospace would lock up my computer with all of their music players and photo galleries.
